About Mikael After beating cancer into remission once, much-loved Minneapolis mime artist Mikael Rudolph is back in the hospital with leukemia. As the saying goes, when it rains, it pours. So we're getting together with other Twin Cities performers over two weekends to make sure Mikael's got a big enough umbrella. And we're not just re-mounting our fringe show. Your generosity will be rewarded with some older skits you haven't seen in a while, or maybe have never seen. You won't know unless you come. |
| "Mime is a much-maligned theatrical form. Dean Hatton and Kirsten Stephens (a former star student of Marcel Marceau) clearly know that, but they also know that magic can be created with invisible props and scenery. Leaving painted faces aside in favor of openly expressive ones (as well as elastic limbs), the duo has created five scenes with a keen sense of the overlap between comedy and tragedy. They may pull every mime trick out of the trunk in an opening chase scene, but they also use the form to take audiences to far deeper places." - Ron Hubbard, Pioneer Press | |
